Educate Yourself About Puppymills

The only way to stop puppymills from continuing to abuse animals is to educate consumers. I hope this will help shed light on what a puppymill is and how and why they continue to operate.

Nobody that sees the pictures, videos and news articles about puppymills wants the abuse that those animals suffer to continue. However, puppymills continue to operate because consumers unknowingly buy from them.

Please visit the links below, read the stories, see the pictures and videos. If your heart is moved, donate some money to help these organizations save these tortured animals. Then, use that knowledge to educate yourself and others.

Do NOT buy puppies from a pet store. Do NOT buy puppies from people without seeing the parents and conditions in which the animals live. If you have a “bad” feeling about a breeder- go with your gut and do NOT do business with that person. Please, research who you are buying from and how the animals are raised and housed and do NOT “rescue” puppymill puppies by purchasing them from the puppymill owners. That only gives them money to go buy more breeding stock!

If you want to rescue a puppy, do it through a reputable rescue organization or shelter. If you want to buy a purebred puppy, follow the recommendations on the websites below to find a reputable breeder.

The only way puppymills will shut down is if there is no demand for their puppies. There is no such thing as “cheap” puppy- someone always pays the price. Don’t make the animals pay the price.

Thank you for looking.
